A Message from
Dr. Crone
Dear Parents:
I am the executive director and founder of Camden Hill Montessori in Carrollton, and I am thrilled to open a local quality education program founded on the philosophy of Maria Montessori. I hold a PhD from the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of North Texas and am a board-certified behavior analyst. As a mother to three children and a certified teacher, I have an unwavering appreciation for quality education and character-development programs. The vision of this school has been carefully crafted to offer a superior educational community that will lead each child to maximize his or her own potential through exploration and curiosity.
Why Montessori?
I believe that quality early education is essential and that the community cultivated by the Montessori philosophy facilitates a love for learning.
Like most, I first came across Montessori as a parent in search of a program for my own children. I visited many daycares and preschools but settled on Montessori. Upon walking in and being warmly greeted, I immediately realized that this environment was observably different. To my amazement, young kids were engaged in learning and not just being entertained. As I observed the classroom, each child was actively exploring and tinkering. Their little expressions of curiosity and wonder had me convinced immediately that this was where I wanted my children to be. Now, in reflection, I know I made the right choice and attribute much of my children’s inquisitiveness, creativity, and ability to problem solve independently to their Montessori teachers.
Thank you to all of our parents for selecting us to be a part of your children’s community and for the privilege of teaching them. It is my greatest hope that when your children, as adults, reflect on their childhoods, they will remember their experience at Camden Hill as one that prepared them for the future.

Mission
Our mission is to create a learning environment that will prepare children to reach their full potential through exploration and curiosity and with their imaginations. We embrace individual differences and personalize learning for each child, fostering development through hands-on experience. Moreover, we nurture each spirit, giving each child the knowledge to make meaningful friendships and achieve future academic readiness.
Our promise:
We provide an innovative environment to stimulate learning and emotional development.
We foster love for learning and encourage curiosity.
We facilitate critical thinking, character development, self-motivation and nurture confidence.
We build a strong sense of community and respect for others.
Our Values
Social Responsibility.
We value diversity, kindness, caring for others and treating others the way we want to be treated. We teach that making a difference in the community and the world is worthwhile.
Integrity.
We believe that honesty is the best policy, even when no one is watching. We teach that the expectations one has for themselves should be above reproach.
Excellence.
We work with dedication to make things better and we don’t give up. We teach innovation through critical thinking, the encouragement of questions and the creation of new solutions to problems both individually and as a group.
Our Philosophy
Each child is unique, and it is our responsibility to foster independence and confidence in each student by preparing an environment that stimulates curiosity and exploration through the five senses. As educators, we can then use the learning environment to facilitate new experiences that develop critical thinking, creativity and problem solving. We believe that the best way to maximize each student’s learning potential is to adapt our methods to individual interests, strengths and developmental levels.
We are committed to celebrating each child’s discoveries with them and empowering them to learn more.
Our Approach
Nurturing Your Child in a Personalized Learning Environment
In our classroom community at Camden Hill Montessori, your child will meet their potential. Our commitment is to provide highly personalized learning in an environment that embraces differences and fosters independence. We make this possible by nurturing your child’s individual interests, celebrating successes and introducing new experiences in a way that will pique curiosity.
Montessori and More
Camden Hill Montessori maintains the student-centered approach of Maria Montessori and in addition blends other traditional and progressive teaching technologies to better facilitate individual learning and academic readiness for future education.
Student Choice – Camden Hill students take responsibility and are accountable for their own education. With careful direction from Camden Hill teachers, your child will have the freedom to make choices and learn independently. This helps your child build self-esteem and confidence.
Academic Focus
Your child will learn through our curriculum, which includes language arts, math, culture, science, social studies, geography, technology, a foreign language, and the arts. The Montessori materials are engaging and spark interest in students, and then we add to that curriculum to ensure mastery of the targeted academic goals. At Camden Hill, we make the curriculum fit your child, rather than making your child fit the curriculum.
Character Development
We consider your child’s character development as essential as academic development. We encourage our students to take care of themselves, respect their environment, and care about others. During the academic day, students have multiple opportunities to contribute to a community, speak politely, and be considerate and helpful to others.
For the Love of Learning
Our goal is not just to teach skills but to teach students how to learn so that they are prepared for lifelong learning. Our teachers guide each student and identify personal interests in order to maximize learning and facilitate confidence in areas that may need growth. You will see your child connect knowledge in an exciting way.
